Topics
The most valuable people in the age of AI aren't the ones with every answer — they're the ones who can figure anything out. Phil built a career and a company on that instinct, from co-founding NoCodeOps to leading AI transformation at Zapier. In this keynote he turns "figure it out" from a personality trait into a repeatable framework: how to move from curiosity to capability, how to build when there's no playbook, and why the generalist who learns to work alongside AI becomes an organization's greatest advantage. For leaders, L&D teams, and anyone navigating a shift where the ground keeps moving.
Getting one team excited about AI is easy. Getting an entire organization fluent is the hard part, and it's the part Phil has lived. Having taken Zapier to 97% AI literacy and spent 1,000+ hours in the field with companies from early startups to UPS, Phil lays out what actually drives adoption: the human side. He shares the playbook for moving a whole workforce from curiosity to daily practice, the failure modes that stall most rollouts, and how to build a culture where people reach for AI by default. For CEOs, CHROs, and transformation leaders responsible for making AI real across the org.
About Phil
Phil Lakin is the Director of AI Transformation at Zapier, one of the defining names in workflow automation. He leads Zapier's company-wide AI transformation program, the effort that took the entire organization to a 97% AI-literacy rate through hands-on bootcamps and agent-building workshops that made experimentation the norm.
Phil got there by building. He co-founded NoCodeOps, the community and product that became the home for the people wiring together the modern automated enterprise. Zapier acquired NoCodeOps in 2024, and Phil went on to lead Zapier's first solution-based product, Lead Router, before taking on the mandate to make an entire company fluent in AI.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Phil Lakin speak about?
Phil speaks on practical AI adoption: how leaders and their teams go from being curious about AI to actually building with it. His talks draw on the program that took Zapier to a 97% AI-literacy rate and on more than 1,000 hours spent helping companies from early startups to UPS put AI to work.
What makes Phil different from other AI speakers?
Phil is a practitioner, not a commentator. He built and led Zapier's company-wide AI transformation, so his sessions come from having done the thing he teaches, and audiences leave having built something themselves.
Does Phil deliver keynotes, hands-on workshops, or both?
Both. Phil delivers keynotes, but his signature format is hands-on: leaders build a working AI agent themselves before they leave the room, and his team sessions move a whole group from AI-curious to AI-capable.
What results can a team expect after working with Phil?
Teams leave able to put AI to work on what they actually do day to day. Phil builds each session around a group's real scenarios, which is why leaders like Miro's CIO have called the learning hands-on and immediately useful.
Can Phil tailor the session to our company or industry?
Yes. Phil builds sessions around your team's actual workflows and industry rather than running a generic overview. That relevance is the point: participants work on scenarios they recognize, so the skills carry straight back to the job.
What events and audiences is Phil a fit for?
Phil works well with executive teams and full-company audiences, and fits leadership offsites, all-hands meetings, customer conferences, and sales kickoffs. He has worked with organizations ranging from two-person startups to enterprises like UPS, in person or virtually.
